Default Promotion of Suicide

I'm sure you all have heard about the article on 'New Moon' promoting suicide, but just in case you missed it you can read about it here.

I have to know, what is everyone's take on this? I'm going to hold my thoughts back for a little bit and see what everyone else says.

One. your link isn't working. Two. There was no attempted suicide in New Moon. She wasn't trying to kill herself.

yeah the link isn't working says there is an error. idk what suicide you are talking about but in NM Bella is just Cliff diving, she's not trying to kill herself. Just being adventurous and doing dangerous things to hear Edward's voice. Doesn't promote suicide in any way imo cause she states to Alice in the book that she wasnt trying to kill herself.

I feel sorry for Bella though, I mean losing Edward was too much for her.

^ But I still thought she was crazy. Wayyy too obsessed. No matter how much a guy hurt me, I would never let it show that I'd be weak enough to go that crazy. I'd hurt, of course, but I wouldn't show it.

Everyone reacts differently to things. Some people have trouble dealing with that sort of loss & pain. But yeah, in the book she clearly states to Alice that she wasn't trying to kill herself. So New Moon isn't promoting suicide at all imo.

Wait, are you talking about Edward because Bella doesn't want to commit suicide.

if you are talking about Edward, then well........i don't really know how i feel about it. i mean i think its absurd how he wants to die because he "lost"Bella, but i guess SM was trying to portray the strength of their love or something????
