Stephen King has little room to criticize another author's writing. He's good, I admit, but his heros are no less Mary Sue than SM, and he himself said his work is "the literary equivalent of a Big Mac and fries".

Also, Stephen King draws from the same motifs OVER AND OVER AND OVER. He loves writing about writers who go crazy (perhaps inserting himself into his work?), haunted hotels, etc.--He basically writes the same stories over and over, changing a little here and there.

I did LOVE the Salem's Lot miniseries though. Those vampires were pretty hardcore--I should read the book too.

Who gives a rat a$$ about King he's still a good writer.

But have you read Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile, pure human works from King.
