Default Star Trek

Who has seen it, or wants to see it? I went with my family last night, and I was really pleased with it. The reviews of the movie have been great, so I wasn't expecting anything less. The casting was great, and I really enjoyed how they incorporated Leonard Nimoy into it. However, some hardcore trekkies may have an issue with the plot. In a sense, they rewrote Star Trek history by making this movie. I give it an 8/10. Oh, and I loved that little thing that was with Scotty lol!!

Oh, and all of you LOTR fans will know that Karl Urban( Eomer in LOTR) plays McCoy. He did a GREAT job in the movie!

Lol, I won't be seeing it. It's not something I'm even remotely interested in.

My parents are big fans, too, so I expect them to see it when my dad's got over being sick. They own all 7 seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation. XD That's like 46 - 48 DVDs. XD

Coming from a non-fan, I loved it. It was incredibly well done, and able to turn something as crazy as Star Trek into something believable and even thrilling.

My one complaint: It's Star Trek, and there's no fixing that without taking away the key things that give ST its identity. Names like Vulcan, Romulan, etc., which are Latin names, would not be used by alien races millions of light-years away. In addition, (nerd alert) the Enterprise is a ridiculous design for a starship. Form follows function, and to somebody who appreciates science-fiction engineering, its disk with sunken maintenance level and raised engines looks silly. Granted, its style goes back to the sixties and the movie is a prequel to the original series, but that's my point. ST is so old, and in position to be replaced by more modern renditions of the future.

I just went and saw it.... It was wonderful... There was only one problem I had with it (don't want to post spoilers) so I give it 9/10... If I have the money I'm going to go back and see it again....

My brother insisted that we go to BK to get those cups. I was completely against it seeing as I'm Boycotting BK because I can't stand the fact that they use THE KING in their commercials, but that's another story. He had to buy a meal for each cup he wanted. I was like "Michael, are you INSANE!!!!!!!?????" lol.
