Default Is the book better than the movie?

There are many reasons people prefer reading the book then watching the movie, it could be because as we read a book we are creating our own story in our minds, we picture the characters to look a certain way, act a certain way, we picture their lives a bit different then the next person so when we watch a movie that is based in a book we are watching someone else's (the director's) interpretation of that book which we may or may not agree on. One of the biggest complaints people have is the limited amount of time the director has to tell a story, a 300 or 500 page book has to be made into a 2 hour movie which obviously is not enough time to add all the little details or sometimes large parts the book had. So, if you have read the 'Twilight' books , (which I haven't) what do you think of the movie? Did the Director succeed in telling the story? Is there anything in the 'Twilight' book that you wished it had been included in the movie?

I like both about the same. Although, the sparkling part was stupid in the movie. ¬.¬

Yes!!!! The sparkling Edward... WTH is that? What does it mean?

'you look beautiful'..... yeah, ok i understand why a vampire will need to appear attractive or at the very least 'normal' to attracrt it's prey BUT the sparkling thing just doesn't make any sense to me..

I dont want to insult or call Edward names so I will stop here-- I Just dont get the sparkling scene!

I definitely prefer the books to the movies... also am I bit confused. Didn't Angela go out with a guy called Ben in the books? Not Eric?

O.k. so i know in the movie Edward was all sparkly and Bella was all like "oh it's like diamonds" and I was like *Epic FACEPALM*... and just because of that scene i dislike the movie.. because i agree with the "Team Dracula: because no self-respecting vampire would sparkle.".... I was pushing it to watch parts of it just because i already knew that he was a vampire that didn't like to suck other peoples blood.. but after seeing what i saw of the movie that does make sense to me... but what i was wondering... from those of you who have seen the movie and read the book (and it's kinda already been answered here) is did the sparkling vampire thing not happen in the book?, or what?

The books are much better IMO. The movie was good enough, but not nearly as good. IMO I don't think Robert Pattinson was the perfect Edward, and I had pictured him much more to my liking while reading the books lol. And then I found the special effects to be horrific in the movie. I hated it when he was doing his super speed run.......what in the world was that?! He looked ridiculous, that was not a sexy run! lol
